ABOUT DRAGON ACADEMY

Dragon Academy is a unique training program designed to increase the understanding of how the international venture capital industry works. The program is led by international venture capital experts and developed specifically for Swedish Innovation Advisors who work with early-stage life science companies to help them create better prerequisites for attracting international venture capital. The program covers subject areas key for Swedish life science companies in their pursuit to attract international investors and prepare for their own role as professional emerging players in the international venture capital market.

The programme has been developed by SmiLe and Invest in Skåne together with Region Skåne and it is part of project IRIS (Investment Readiness in Skåne), which is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The project is owned by Almi Företagspartner Skåne.

WHAT´S THE PROGRAM LIKE

Dragon Acadamy is based on a so-called ”train-the-trainer”-concept where the Innovation Advisors can implement their knowledge in their host start-up environments. The programme consists of 11 modules covering the fundamental structures and processes of the VC industry (for example, VC structure, investment process and criteria, terminology, and communication).

In parallel with the training, Dragon Academy provides a resource bank containing central documentation that the participants can use in their continued capital acquisition work.

INTERNATIONAL SPEAKERS

Dragon Academy is led by international VC experts Luca Venza, Julie Rachline, and Emmanuelle Deponge.

LUCA VENZA

Luca Venza is the former Director of Tech Transfer and Acceleration at IESE Business School and Founder of Lotus Partners, a deep tech venture builder which specializes in co-founding science-backed startups with strong IP in the materials sciences space. Luca is trainer, mentor and/or board member for dozens of science-backed startups each year through a broad range of programs (World Economic Forum, the Graphene Flagship, EIT Health, EIT Food and Invest Horizon) and through private initiatives.

LALLIANSE

Based in Paris, LallianSe, is the initiator of the concept of life sciences integrator and transforms innovations into economic success through the co-construction and execution of convincing equity stories.

JULIE RACHLINE

Julie is the President of LallianSe. Julie has a science (PhD, ESCP) and VC background. She is a serial entrepreneur with a big passion for innovation and has a strong investor focus. She is co-founder & CEO of Braintale.

EMMANUELLE DEPONGE

Emmanuelle is Strategic Partner at LallianSe. She has a PhD, MSc. Emmanuelle has worked 20+ years with life science investment, both VC and BA, TT, licensing, M&A, IPO, Corporate governance and equity story telling.
